The Alfa Laval Shared Services Center was established in 2020 and provides business services within the Alfa Laval Group globally. We support three key areas: IT, HR, and Finance.

Global IT Center in Kraków

Our Global IT Center in Kraków was established in 2021 and provides both operational and development functions, employing top IT professionals.

The concept of the GITDC is a response to the demanding and dynamic situation in the area of human resources. By attracting talent from the Polish labor market, Alfa Laval is able to meet growing demands driven by the company’s rapid development and ongoing digitalization processes, using the latest technologies and modern ways of working.

I joined Alfa Laval in June 2021 as one of the first members of the Service Desk team in Kraków. At the beginning, we were an eight-person team supporting users in the EMEA region, while also collaborating with teams in the US and APAC. Today, we operate as a global Service Desk, and I serve as the Manager responsible for Europe.

What attracted me to Alfa Laval was its stability and strong reputation. It’s a company with a long history dating back to the 19th century. I was looking for a place that would offer both professional growth and job security — and I found both here. Although I initially had concerns about working in a large organization, I quickly felt like an integral part of the team.

From the very beginning, I appreciated the approach of other managers — open to new ideas, supportive of development, and providing space for learning and upskilling. I’ve progressed from a specialist role, through team leader, to my current position as Manager. At Alfa Laval, engagement and the desire to grow are truly valued.

Global HR Shared Services Center

Our Global HR Shared Services Center is primarily focused on streamlining HR-related processes and ensuring efficient, effective, and comprehensive execution of human resources policies.

We support both Centers of Excellence and employees across the Alfa Laval Group in the following areas:

  • Global support for compensation and benefits processes, such as salary reviews, compensation planning, and performance evaluation processes
  • Global training administration, including end-to-end delivery of training programs, support for software tools (e.g. MBTI and 360), support for Alfa Laval’s Learning and Development system, and employee engagement surveys
  • Support for our employees in the Central and Eastern Europe region in areas such as HR process administration, employee documentation, onboarding, benefits, and payroll

I’ve been part of the Alfa Laval team for over three years, and I currently work as a Talent & Learning Analyst. Financial Shared Services Center in Kraków

The Financial Shared Services Center in Kraków supports our sales companies, shared service centers, and production units in the efficient execution of financial processes.

We deliver high-quality financial services in the following areas:

Purchase to Pay (PtP)

This area is responsible for comprehensive handling of supplier payables. Key processes include:

  • Registration and verification of purchase invoices
  • Execution of payments
  • Supplier query management
  • Reconciliation of balances and settlements

Order to Cash (OtC)

This area covers receivables and incoming payments. Key activities include:

  • Processing bank statements
  • Customer account reconciliation
  • Management of incoming payments

Record to Report (RtR)

Focused on financial reporting and accounting. Main processes include:

  • Support for accounting operations
  • Financial reporting
  • Collaboration with controllers, auditors, and the business

Master Data

Responsible for managing financial master data in our systems. Key tasks include:

  • Creation and updates of customer and supplier data
  • Ensuring data consistency and quality
  • Supporting operational processes by maintaining accurate reference data
